About me and my background

Skills and Training

Have I studied all the wrong things?

After earning a degree in Applied Biology, I began my career in Public Health Medicine and completed a postgraduate diploma in Public Health Promotion at Manchester University. This led to a role at the BBC, where I combined health education with a growing passion for visual storytelling. At the BBC, I developed and delivered multi-platform content—TV, radio, digital, print, and live events—across departments including Internal Communications, Adult Education, and BBC Learning. I also worked in the DG’s office on strategy and engagement.
Since leaving the BBC in 2012, I’ve provided strategic consultancy and creative content for clients such as Historic Royal Palaces, Save the Children, Creative Skillset, Penfold Hub, and Westminster Adult Education Services.
I’ve also explored mixed media storytelling through the project A World in a Suitcase and developed the live stage format for wildlife presenter Ben Garrod’s touring show.
My documentary on the PepperPot charity, filmed by Jeffrey Maclean and edited by Myrna Shoa, was screened at the Lexi Cinema showcasing powerful stories from the Windrush generation.
At present, I’m curating an online gallery dedicated to Spanish art, collaborating with a Chinese director on new film scripts, and working with a female-led production team on a very important documentary focused on child protection. Watch the space!
I love harnessing the power of numerous platforms to help the audience feel immersed in every aspect of the story.
"Timuchin has very sound editorial judgement and a natural flair for fostering excellent relationships with multiple stakeholders and opinion formers. He is extremely creative, brings lots of energy to every project, and is a fun and very popular colleague to work beside"
Patsy Newey, Media Consultant and former Executive Producer, BBC
